During the winter period, the horse produces a thicker coat to protect itself from the cold. This also makes your horse sweat faster during training. When you train regularly and intensively it may be wise to clip your horse. Of course, this should be done with a top quality clipper. To still protect your horse from the cold after shaving, use of a rug is recommended.
